Chemex

Design comes with elegant taste

40 g coffee - 680 g water  – 6 min brew time
= 620 ml/608g brewed coffee

ALL YOU NEED

  • Filter paper
  • Scale
  • Grinder
  • Kettle

STEP 1

Measure and grind coffee. 

STEP 2

Pour hot water through the filter to wet the paper and to warm up the filter and the Chemex. Use the hot water afterwards to water your houseplants.

STEP 3

Add the ground coffee to the filter. 

STEP 4

Wet the coffee. Use 120 grams of water (three times the dry weight of ground coffee). Bloom for 30-45 sec.

STEP 5

Pour more water with a rotating movement on the grounds until the scale shows 350 grams. Let steep for 1 min. 

STEP 6

Pour more water with a rotating movement on the grounds until the scale shows 500 grams. Let steep for 1 min. 

STEP 7

Use the rest of the water to first clean up the brim of the filter and then pour the rest of the water on the grounds with a rotating movement until the scale shows 680 grams. 

STEP 8

Swirl the Chemex before serving.
